2024 San Leandro Crusaders Youth Football

2023 Football Coaching Staff

Mark Aranzamendez - Jr. Peewee Head Coach

Mark Aranzamendez, aka Coach AZ, proudly served his country as part of the Armed Forces since 1997.  He's a U.S. Airborne Paratrooper Veteran who got his nickname "AZ" while serving.

This is Coach AZ's second season with the San Leandro Crusaders.  He's been coaching for over ten years in multiple sports including boxing, football, and rugby. He was also part of the coaching staff with Antioch Youth Football league in 2009.  His favorite part of coaching is the mentorship with the student-athletes and seeing the joy they experience when they accomplish their goals both on and off the field.

Coach AZ believes in building kid's confidence and developing a great work ethic in our children to develop them as leaders not only on our football team but in life.  He firmly believes he is where his is today due to the work ethic.  He wants kids to understand that in order to be successful it takes hard work and dedication, and the ability to work together as a team to achieve a common goal.

Coach AZ married his high school sweetheart Magdalena and have two daughters, Alexus & Jayden and two sons, Justin & Jayce, and granddaughter Reynalyn.

Congratulations 2019 EBYFC Turkey Bowl Champions- Junior Peewee Division!!
